My name is Sandra Lake
I’m Sandra Lake, founder of Over 50 Fit & Fabulous, and I help women over 50 become stronger, fitter and more confident in their bodies again.
But my journey into fitness did not begin in a gym.
Before becoming a coach, I worked within the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist specialising in Haematology and Transfusion Science. Science, health and understanding the body have always been a huge part of my life, and that knowledge now forms the foundation of the way I coach women safely and effectively.
During my 40s and 50s, I became increasingly aware of how many women were being left behind by the fitness industry. Most programmes felt extreme, intimidating or designed for younger women, while many women over 50 were quietly losing confidence in themselves, their bodies and their health.
I knew there had to be a better way.
That is why I created Over 50 Fit & Fabulous.
My mission is to help women over 50 feel strong, capable and proud of themselves again through realistic exercise, supportive coaching and sustainable lifestyle habits.
Alongside coaching, I also became a competitive bodybuilder in my 50s, transforming my physique multiple times and winning competitions along the way. Not because I believe every woman should become a bodybuilder, but because I want women to see that ageing does not mean slowing down, giving up or accepting feeling invisible.
Strength changes everything.
Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.
Many of the women I work with arrive feeling exhausted, uncomfortable in their clothes, worried about injuries, frustrated with weight gain or unsure where to start. Together, we focus on building strength, improving mobility, increasing energy and rebuilding confidence one step at a time.
