Infused water is a delightful way to stay hydrated while adding a burst of flavour and nutrients. Here's a simple recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 orange, thinly sliced
A handful of fresh mint leaves
1-2 litres of cold water
Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Wash the lemon, lime, and orange thoroughly.
Thinly slice the citrus fruit.
Gently rinse the mint leaves to remove any dirt.
Combine in a jug:
Place the citrus slices and mint leaves into a large jug.
Pour cold water over the fruit and mint.
Chill and Infuse:
Place the jug in the fridge.
Let it sit for at least 2 hours to allow the flavours to infuse. For a more intense flavour, leave it overnight.
Serve:
Add ice cubes to the jug if desired.
Pour the infused water into glasses, ensuring some fruit and mint are included in each serving.
Tips:
Experiment with flavours: Try adding other fruit like strawberries, cucumber slices, or blueberries for a different twist.
Herbal Enhancements: Basil, rosemary, or thyme can be great alternatives to mint.
Reusable Ingredients: You can refill the jug with water a couple of times using the same fruit before they lose their flavour.
Enjoy this refreshing, natural, and hydrating drink any time of the day!
